Step 2: Create Your Style
Maybe you only have a drawing or an original sample. Our technicians can help you bring it too life. In many cases we can also scan your original and make an exact copy.
Step 3: Direct Cast
Many people today choose to go directly into casting once their style is printed. Today’s printers are so fast, accurate and easy to cast. This is usually the most efficient way to go and Carrera uses the most advanced 3D printers in the industry.
Step 4: Master Models
Like music on CDs, models are not dead yet. Our metalsmiths can take your master model and clean it, adjust the sprue, repair it or change it. Basically, make it perfect.
Step 5: Making A Mold
If we are going with an actual model, we’re going to need a mold. There are several types of rubber to choose from depending upon the complexity of you style. We can help you choose which rubber will work best for you.
Step 6: Creating A Wax
The quality of the wax is probably the most underrated part of the casting process. Any defects in the wax like distortion or internal air bubbles will dramatically affect the end results of your casting.
Step 7: Tree Set-Up
- Is the sprue in the right position and the right size?
- What will be the best angle to attach the wax to the tree?
- What temperature will these pieces be cast at?

Time to choose a metal. We have the largest selection of gold and platinum alloys in the world. All of them are “Certified Sustainable” and metallurgically sound.
Step 9: Time To Cast
Pouring the metal into the flask requires a combination of art and science. We have combined the best equipment possible with the top chefs available in order to produce the finest castings available.
Step 10: Perfect Metal
Every flask that we cast is X-Rayed to make sure that the assay is 100% spot on. The break down of all of our metals is available for everyone to view.
